Building a Better body

This is what the book'll look like when it appears in March. Pretty, hey?

Yes. What does the picture represent?

I'm guessing the picture relates to my favourite metaphor in the book. That life in church is a bed of roses, it's beauty leaves you breathless, the thorns can rip you apart.

It's a lot prettier than the previous cover, looks aimed at a different market?

I like baptistjon's idea - it makes it sound planned! To be honest, I'm not sure what the image represents though I do know it's a detail from a stained glass window. The trouble with books on the church is that designers always think anglican buildings, so there were a lot of covers that I couldn't live with. In terms of who the book's aimed and what the cover tells us about that - I think it's trying to say that it's a serious book for strugglers and leaders alike to help them get to grips with how we can create better churches by talking to each other. But that's just a guess.

Thanks. I think covers are important as they can tell you a lot before you start reading and sometimes even put you off buying them!
